Description
The ACE 32 Catamarans is a new project being built just outside the city of Riga in Latvia. Designed by Roel De Groot and Naval Architect Guy Whitehouse building on the idea of Graham Stimson at Worldwide Catamarans in the UK.
While most production builders are producing larger and larger cats ACE is looking to satisfy the growing demand for a smaller catamaran, cheaper mooring costs, easy to handle with limited maintenance.
There are very few designs in this size range and choice is limited.
ACE will be concentrating on superb build quality and a novel design, which despite it size the ACE 32 promises to be a spacious catamaran, due to the mast being stepped on the coachroof on top of an arch, which allows the saloon to be pushed further forward, greatly increasing the volume of the saloon. Standing headroom should keep some of the tallest sailors happy.
For the moment the cat will be only offered as a Duo version as standard for the foreseeable future with two comfortable double berths aft with forward heads in each. There will also be an option for a convertible berth in the saloon for unexpected guests.
A reasonable standard specification is offered with a comprehensive options list.
Twin 13 hp Yanmar diesels will push the boat along at a respectable turn of speed, but a full electric option will be available.
Designed to be easy to sail it should be easily handled solo and great for a weekend coastal cruiser or even longer excursions.
The factory initially will be producing 10 boats a year at their facility and delivery is approximately 18 months from order.
