The Mediterranean yachting season is getting closer and it seems that things are picking up at last after a slow winter here in Spain. As I look out the window with the sun shining and the blue sea sparkling in the distance it feels great to be here.

With all the doom and gloom of the last few months, it will be great to feel the warm sun on your back and look forward to getting afloat for one or two weeks if nothing else.
The sales of the larger boats are on the up, perhaps because many wealthy owners are fed up with the rat race and buying a boat for cruising for a couple of years and come back when the world has got back to normal. Rather than stash your hard earned dosh in the bank with paltry interest rates, many are cashing in their chips and retiring early and investing in a boat and relaxing in the sun.

With the stress of the 9 to 5 rut that many are in getting out on the water is a great form of escapism wether it be a wind surfer or yacht the freedom of the sea still offers long happy fun filled days. If you are long distance cruising or just scooting around to the next bay, anchoring for lunch and swimming around the boat. There is nothing quite like your own little island.
